1.    Remember, in long, narrow spaces or in very large rooms, you can install more than one fan.

2.    If using for both cooling and heating you need purchase a reverse cycle fan.  All Martec fans are reverse cycle.

3.    Are you going to use the fan for light as well.  This is a great way to light a room and as a bonus many Martec fans have the capability of being fitted with energy saving globes.

4.    Ensure you purchase from a trusted supplier who offers a warranty.  Martec has been in business for over 40 years.

5.    Ensure you have the instruction manual and clear operating instructions.

6.    Have a qualified and registered Electrician install the fan, this will ensure your warranty is valid. We have a list of electricians our customers have recommended.  It is always good to get more than one quotation so you can compare. The cost of an electrician does vary but the general rule is about $100 - $150, even with the cost of the fan this a lot cheaper than air conditioning and central heating. And if you already have air conditioning and central heating having a ceiling fan can actual save you money.

7.    If necessary match your fan to your décor.  Or if unsure go with a fan that will blend with it’s environment. If choosing a fan with wooden blades, make sure they are sealed (all Martec’s are) to prevent warping.  Or fans rated for use in damp locations, such as a bathroom or balcony need to be rust proof.

8.    Do you require a remote control or a wall switch.  All Martec ceiling fans come as wall switch and remote adaptable.
